Gareth to race in UK V de V series

Wed 2nd April 2008

Gareth will be racing in the UK 'VdeV' sportscar series in 2008, driving a Ligier for Bryce Wilson's If Motorsport team.

The move will see Gareth add VdeV racing commitments to his duties already confirmed with BTC Racing in the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Gareth commented, "I'm really looking forward to being involved in a full championship campaign and can't wait to try these awesome little cars! It obviously opens the door a bit more to the LMP world too, as VdeV is now a real feeder series for LMES & ALMS. The only clash with my BTCC commitments with BTC Racing is with the Thruxton round on May 17/18, so i won't be at that VdeV round."

Gareth will be dricing alongside Francis Galasahn at the If Motorsport team. Francis has raced various types of sportscars in the States over the last few years before returning to the UK. In 2007 he entered the European VdeV series driving an If Motorsport Ligier JS49, while 2008 will see Francis entering the full VdeV UK series again in his Ligier JS49.
